This animation is a tribute to my cat, who used to curl up beside me every night, making me feel safe, held, like a cradle.
The original illustration was created months before he passed away, drawn in watercolor and ink. After losing him, I wrote a poem and decided to bring that drawing to life through animation. The movement became a way to cope with grief, to honor the quiet intimacy we shared, and to hold onto his presence just a little longer.
September 2023. Hand-painted on watercolour and ink on watercolour paper. Animated on Adobe After Effects.
