I painted this piece one year after my cat passed away, a watercolour offering for Día de Muertos to remember him and all the pets who have crossed the bridge. A path of marigolds and candles guides their way back to the altar, so they can visit us for a brief, luminous moment.
Created with watercolor and ink on 300 g Saunders Waterford hot-pressed cotton paper, and retouched digitally, this work is both a tribute and a small act of love — keeping the memory of our companions alive through color and light.
